A hugely romantic brand, one hundred stars has become a regular feature on wish lists and peoples birthday and Christmas gift lists. Their core collection of gowns, kimonos and throwovers has over recent years been supplemented for limited edition runs like tops, palazzo pants and more recently cashmere jumpers and cardigans. All pieces have the unique and beautiful prints often in different colourways. The fabric is a beautiful mix of modal and viscose but you would be hard pushed to differentiate from a beautiful silk piece. A favourite amongst many celebrities such as Nigella Lawson and often seen on the big screen too most recently in Mamma Mia.

Whilst many people might shorten their name to 100 stars, One Hundred Stars never short changes their customers. It is a small family run business. Ethical production is vitally important to them. They ensure all products are only ever printed using AZO free dyes, recycled packaging is used wherever possible, and all staff in the UK and abroad are paid above the standard living wage.

Garments are made in India using the highest standards of ethical, environmental, and health & safety practice. One Hundred Stars works exclusively with another second-generation family business for their garment manufacture. This company is audited regularly and awarded certification SA 8000. This is a social audit that ensures there is no child labour, no bonded labour and employs all its skilled workers on a permanent basis. In addition, One Hundred Stars carries out its own factory inspections once a year in person for extra piece of mind.

To reduce wastage, One hundred stars design items specifically to make use of off-cut material. Any faulty items are repaired in house, then sold in our yearly sample sale, where all proceeds go to local charities.

We have now entered our 4th year working in collaboration with The Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. A percentage of every sale from this collaborative range goes towards the vital work carried out at Kew into climate change research, preservation of natural habitats and conservation.
